Punjabi Palao, also known as Punjabi Pulao, is a traditional dish from the Punjabi region of India and Pakistan. It was first made in Central Asia, specifically modern-day Baghdad.
Ingredients:-
Chicken- 750 gm
Onion- 2 Sliced
Lemon- 2 Sliced
Yogurt- 2 Tb spoon
Oil- 2 Tb spoon
Tomatoes- 2 medium size
Round pepper- 2 Tb spoon
Salt- 2 tb spoon
Chilly flakes- 1 Tb spoon
Ginger & Garlic paste- 2 ½ Tb spoon
Green chilly- 4
Soaked rice- 500 gm
Coriander leaves- 1 cup
Whole spices
Cardamom- 4
Cloves- 5
Big Cardamom- 2
Cumin- 1 tb spoon
Star anise- 1
Coriander seed- 1 Spoon
Instructions: –
Boil the whole spices for 10 mins. Switch the stove off, add lemon and let the flavour infuse. Strain the water and use it before adding the rice.
Take a wok add oil, onions fry them until beautiful golden, add ginger garlic paste.
Add chicken to cook it well until it changes its colour add salt, round pepper, chilly flakes, green chillies, tomatoes, and yogurt and let it cook until chicken is completely tender.
Add rice and strained infused water.
Check the salt and give the dum. And Pulao is ready to serve !
